Daniel is originally from England, but he found his love for sailing when he moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2011. He and his wife Klaudia have owned several cruising sailboats and have explored the expansive waters around Seattle and Puget Sound for the last decade. Daniel is also an avid racer. He sailed for his local club in Olympia, WA during the last 6 years while delivering yachts up and down the west coast in his spare time. Daniel has held a 25-ton Masters License with Sailing and Towing endorsements for the past several years. Daniel relocated to Florida a couple of years ago, where his passion for sailing and teaching continues, running sailing classes and hosting sailing vacations in the Caribbean, the Mediterranean and South Pacific. Skilled in instructing Navigation, Weather Routing, Vessel Maintenance, Passage Making and Boat Handling/Docking, he looks forward to exploring the waters and assisting you in reaching your own sailing goals.

I can’t recommend Daniel enough. The highlight of my experience was being guided through maneuvering a catamaran in an incredibly tight space, which eventually gave me the confidence to dock the boat single-handed in the Mediterranean with a crosswind! Daniel is a master communicator; he remained calm and gave perfectly timed, clear instructions that made a high-pressure situation feel manageable. If you want an instructor who builds real-world competence and handles technical challenges with ease, this is the one! I look forward to going back out with him to finish my Offshore Captain certificate.

Daniel is a fantastic instructor. I would recommend him with even more stars if they were available. I've been sailing for 25+ years and in two days with him, not only did I make a new friend, I learned tips and techniques that I could have never known on my own. Some people have the "gift" of teaching and that is clearly Dan's special gift. He's makes the learning fun (which is increased by his British accent), but also aided by his sense of humor and extreme patience and kindness. I will be back to see him for sure.
