I have a love of all things maritime. I grew up on the New Jersey coast sailing and boating on the Toms River, Barnegat Bay, Great Bay and Atlantic Ocean. I have also spent a great deal of time in Florida boating on the Gulf coast from St. Pete Beach to Sanibel Island. I currently operate a charter service in Atlantic City and split my time between Brigantine and my home along the Delaware River in New Jersey. I prefer to take a laid back and pragmatic approach to instructing. It's very important to me to know what you are looking to achieve during your time with me so I can fine tune your learning experience. I take pride in being able to present ideas in a non-complicated format so students can easily grasp and apply concepts and gain a sense of accomplishment early in the learning process. I hope to foster a lifelong love of seamanship.

To say that Lawrence was a great instructor doesn’t even come close to doing him justice. It’s rare to encounter someone who so clearly cares about their responsibilities and is genuinely invested in their students’ success. Lawrence went above and beyond in every way. Before my assessment, he reached out on three separate occasions to ensure I had everything I needed well in advance. He even took time out of his personal days to give me exceptional guidance on specific applications I could download to help ensure a safe trip to Croatia next month. His focus wasn’t just on passing a test—he truly cared that I had the knowledge and confidence to succeed. Lawrence was professional, brought a wealth of knowledge from his experience working at the Coast Guard, and immediately put me at ease. On top of that, he was just a genuinely kind and supportive person throughout the entire experience. Kudos to you, Grant, for having such outstanding professionals on your team. Your classes were th
