Coming of age in the 1980s in South Africa, I grew up with endless horizons and a spirit of adventure. At just 13, I taught myself to sail on dinghies, turning curiosity into capability and laying the foundation for a lifelong passion. What started as a boy’s dream has become more than 14,000 nm of big-boat sailing experience across oceans, challenging conditions, and diverse vessels.
