    This trip is a very tough passage from Caribbean to Brazil and is for experienced sailors that are ready to take the step to blue water passage making. We will be setting out from the Caribbean Sea towards Brazil on a demanding and relatively uncommon track - pushing against the Equatorial current and sailing much of the way on a close reach. It is a technical challenge requiring careful weather routing, constant sail trim, and patience with the conditions. This passage is a master class in weather routing and the focus is on strategy, endurance, and seamanship as we work our way through the vast expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. On the Eastern shore is the city of Salvador, the capital of Bahia State, with its many restored colonial buildings and churches. Salvador is also the centre for Afro – Brazilian culture. Setting off from Salvador, we will explore the “ Bay of All saints” , stopping in a new anchorage every day - exploring onshore the rich history of the area and enjoy the local culture, music and food. Around the bay and up the rivers there are many anchorages to explore, all only a few hours' sail away from each other.
