Level IV Captain Rank Chief Sailing Instructor / Assessor

Growing up for me always involved boats! From sailing my toy boat on the local lake, I went on to win a few races rowing clinker-built boats on the same lake. School in a fishing village was all about the sea, and paddling my canoe through the caves at high tide gave me a feeling of freedom that I believe you can only get from being on the water. Fishing on a small North Sea trawler taught me just how vulnerable we really are when out there, and sailing my boat from Crete to Cyprus when a storm hit put that lesson into good use. Whilst living in Bahrain I owned a powerboat and also learned to sail Lazers, but seemed to spend more time in the water than I did in the boat! I moved to Cyprus and became an RYA day skipper in 2008 and opening a Brokerage showed me I still had a lot to learn. Fortunately, I discovered ‘NauticEd’, and now as an Instructor, following that system gives me a proven, structured method that i know will help you become a highly confident and competent captain.

Practical Competence of Bareboat Charter Master Rank
Captain Chris is an extremely experienced instructor and that shows from the first lesson. He has a very good way of explaining things in different ways until they actually click, both on the water and ashore. His knowledge is outstanding, not only in sailing itself, but also in seamanship, safety, boat handling, and really understanding how a vessel works. At first he may seem strict, but after spending time with him at sea and in dry dock, you can clearly see how much he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to become capable and confident sailors. The Bavaria vessel is in excellent condition and very well maintained, and I really appreciated how much we learned by being involved in the maintenance and understanding every part of the boat. Overall, a true professional and an instructor I would highly recommend to anyone who wants serious and proper sailing training.
