The more I sail the more I love it! There is nothing quite like getting the sails up, turning the engine off, and experiencing the pure joy of feeling the sun on your face, the wind in your sails and the water all around you. I've been sailing for 20 years and have been a boat-owning skipper for the last 15. As both an active racer and cruiser I am typically sailing at least 50 times per year, continuously developing my own skills, teaching and building race crew teams and actively supporting women in sailing. Feedback from my crews over the years is that as a skipper I am patient, easy to understand, explain things well, have an empathetic spirit and am inspirational as well as empowering. My foray into formal Sailing Instruction is a natural evolution combining my passion for the sport with my honed leadership and coaching skills accrued through my professional career. I train on a 2002 Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 40 in Georgian Bay, Ontario from the beginning of June to the end of September. I am available for courses, private coaching, Mediterranean license assessments, live aboard training and mileage building. I am also available to travel and assist with skippering anywhere in North America, the Caribbean and Europe. Happy to develop custom programs to meet your needs.
Notes: Primary training delivered on my boat is done on Georgian Bay out of Midland, Ontario. I am also available to do courses, private coaching, assessments and mileage building on your boat in the greater Georgian Bay area as well as Western Lake Ontario. Skippering service and support is also available for charters or on your boat in North America, the Caribbean and Europe.

I have been sailing since I was eight years old. I have owned sailboats for 40 years and felt I knew a lot about sailing, COLREGS and safety at sea. This course and Merilee Wright were very insightful, pushing me to become more confident in boat handling, MOB skills and safety related matters when it comes to emergencies at sea. i would highly recommend Merilee as an instructor and coach.
