Lyle has spent most of his life around, in, and on the water despite originally being born in Saskatchewan. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Marketing at Memorial University in Newfoundland where he has spent the last 20 years focusing on digital and social media education. Prior to that he had his own company training recreational and technical scuba diving instructors throughout the Caribbean, New Zealand and the South Pacific for 20 years. His sailing began in the late 1980 with a Hunter 32 on the Hudson River in New York and has experience on a number of vessels, both monohull and catamarans ranging up to 51 feet in length. He has completed a number of training courses with a variety of agencies including the American Sailing Association (ASA), Sail Canada, Canada Power & Sail Squadron (CPS), and the International Sail and Power Academy (ISPA) with which is currently holds an Instructor Evaluator rating for both Sail and Power.
