Level V Captain Rank Qualified Sailing Instructor / Assessor

Great sailing instructors must be good sailors but more importantly they must be great teachers. Not only have I taught a variety of topics ranging from computer science to ballroom dancing and paragliding, but I have also been a student of many others, like springboard diving, motorcycle racing and eventually sailing. With such a wide range of experiences and a background in engineering, I feel uniquely qualified to teach sailing no matter the level or learning style of the student. As for my sailing credentials, I picked up sailing in my 30s. I have been racing for nearly a decade, have sailed the Pacific coast, and crossed to Hawaii racking up more than 5000 offshore miles and have chartered boats in the BVIs and the Mediterranean. I am also a US Sailing Instructor and have been teaching at the Kirkland Sailing Club since 2022.
