Level IV Captain Rank Qualified Sailing Instructor / Assessor

I fell in love with sailing in college, sailing Lasers and Hobie catamarans. Since then, I've grown to love cruising in larger boats, whether day sailing in New York or exploring the Caribbean islands. The most fun aspect of sailing for me is being part of a crew, working as a team to make the boat do what we want in the prevailing conditions of wind and sea. I can teach you to sail a boat in a day or two, but sailing is a process of continuous learning that goes on for all the years you will sail. Being a competent sailor is far more than just making the boat go. Rather, it is safely managing the boat in all kinds of conditions, interacting with other vessels, navigating around hazards to your destination, fixing anything that may go wrong, and confidently coordinating your crew. I love to gain new skills, and I love sharing my experience with new and experienced sailors.
