Hans-Joerg (Hans) Burger is a certified SEAS National and SEAS Morris skipper with extensive sailing experience developed through focused training and active sailing on keelboats >30ft since 2018. He holds Advanced Coastal Cruising certification, with additional endorsements in Weather, Radar, Celestial Navigation, and Docking. His continued training with two New Jersey–based sailing clubs, has provided a strong foundation for his practical sailing experience. He has served as instructor, skipper, and first mate on a wide range of monohulls and catamarans in coastal U.S. waters, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. His experience includes multi-day coastal passages, club training sails, and international charters. Hans places strong emphasis on seamanship, safety, and disciplined execution on the water. He enjoys sharing his experience with fellow club members in a practical way, helping sailors build confidence, sound judgment and competence.
