I grew up in a power-boating family, and taught myself to sail at an early age. Fun as that was, I’d have learned so much more with professional instruction back then. Kudos to you for taking the NauticEd approach! You’ll learn the theory from the online courses, so once we’re onboard together we can dive right into the hands-on practical skills, making the theory come alive. I’ll lay the foundations to get you sailing safely and effectively, so that you can develop and hone your boat-handling skills. Good communication is pivotal to effective leadership and teamwork, and our crew will work to optimize those skills too. As a professional sailing instructor for over 15 years, I take pride in my ability to teach to varied learning styles, to simplify difficult concepts, and to make it fun. Sailing is never stagnant - there’s always more to learn, more ways to improve, more ways to challenge yourself. You’ll get the boat “in the groove” and experience the boat’s

Lisa is an excellent instructor whose depth of experience and impeccable professionalism truly inspire confidence. I would unhesitatingly recommend her to teach anyone the art of sailing, from beginners to experienced hands wanting to expand their understanding and become better sailor. There's no one else I'd rather be learning from out on the water.

Lisa was an excellent instructor! She was incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful and patient. She was able to work with seasoned sailors as well at those who were less confident and get us all to the next level. She was clear in her instruction and very well prepared for every lesson and assessment. I look forward to taking another class with her.

Lisa is an excellent instructor. Her depth of knowledge combined with her clarity of instruction and encouraging and friendly manner led to a highly productive learning and testing environment. Anyone who wishes to become a BBCM and be both coached and thoroughly tested I would highly recommend Lisa.

Lisa was great in setting up our training based on our schedule and to construct a course based on our experience and our goals. She was also able to modify the curriculum on the fly around areas that we quickly showed competence and areas were we need more work.

Lisa is the ultimate sailing instructor! She was tireless and relentless and despite us being experienced sailors, we expanded our skills quite a bit such as using spring lines to get in and out of docks, med mooring, and practicing MOB drills which is always good reinforcement. She also explained some technical elements that I was struggling with after the online materials, such as the current vectors. She truly has a gift and we are grateful for the experience.

Lisa Frailey's sailing knowledge, techniques, and manner of instruction are top notch. She was very open to explaining the "why" and "how" when asked. I plan to work with Lisa for future sailing instruction and highly recommend her for quality sailing instruction and experiences.
