Level V Captain Rank Chief Sailing Instructor / Assessor

I am a long time resident of the Georgian Bay Area; started sailing almost two decades ago. My interest was sparked aboard a small Sunfish, and grew as I progressed to trying all types of sailboats over the years, from small Hobie Cats to a 45 foot Catamaran in the BVI’s. My current vessel KRONOS, (a Beneteau Oceanis 370) calls Meaford, Ontario it’s home port. I spend my sailing season enjoying day trips, weekend adventures around the Bay, and extended summer cruises throughout the North Channel. I am a NauticEd Captain Rank level V Instructor. My career as an Advanced Care Paramedic speaks to my focus on safety, and years as a flight Paramedic honed a keen awareness of weather patterns. If you are looking to get started on the water, want to brush up your skills, or set your sights to the Deep Blue, I would love to assist you with these goals. Georgian Bay Sailing Coach.

Collin was an excellent assessor and instructor. He was professional and conducted the assessment without feeling like we were checking boxes, but rather performing manoeuvres as the day went on in a smooth and logical sequence. I highly recommend Collin to anyone from novices to sea-masters alike.

Colin was an excellent teacher. He was patient and made sure to get our sailing backstory in order to gauge the level of instruction required. He made a good plan for the day, but was quite flexible when the high winds forced some plan changes. He even helped out with the sheets when we got tired. Great overall experience!

Collin is a great instructor. Very clear on his expectations and explanations. He has excellent sailing knowledge and in depth understanding of the Nautic Ed course content. It was a pleasure working with him.

Collin is a patient, thoughtful and skilled instructor. He does an excellent job of keeping lessons fun while working teaching specific skills and general seamanship. His boat is well maintained and comfortable for long hours on the water. I can't recommend him highly enough. A+

Collin was very through and systematic in assessing each element of the rubric. Throughout the day Collin was friendly and easy to be with. His boat was perfect for the instruction and testing and the 2 hour sails between Meaford and Thornbury were just the right length for the examination. I learned a lot even though I had substantial prior experience. Collin is a talented and patient instructor. Altogether it was a great day on the water.

My wife and I can't say enough good things about Collin. He was professional from the time we initially contacted him, flexible about what to teach to ensure we were getting what we needed, and very knowledgeable, confident and competent about sailing. He was patient with us, taking the time to talk us through things. He helped us translate the theory of sailing all boats into techniques we could do with our abilities and boat to optimize our sailing. He was fun and friendly to be with, which was great as we had long days in the sun together. I had barely any sailing experience when I met Collin - just a half-dozen, 2 hour jaunts. I feel like after 3 days I am a competent and confident skipper of our 34' vessel, ready to put into practice everything he taught and very excited and ready for the next stage of my sailing education with NauticEd. Thanks Collin!

Collin was great but his boat was better. Collin is very easy to work with and has the knowledge to get you going on the water.
