My personal comment and commitment to you
Sail fast and efficiently, responsibly and safely. Even after four decades under sail, I'm always keen to pick up a new trick - and happy to pass on my knowledge to anyone who wants to learn.
Born in Germany, I learned sailing at the tender age of 13 on Dutch rivers. Later based in Berlin, I quickly ran out of water on the surrounding lakes, and started exploring the Baltic, casting off to Denmark, Finland and Russia. On my moving to New York in 2006 as photographer and author, I crewed and skippered regularly in races off City Island and in Rockport, MA.
I love my regular cruises on the Atlantic, be it along the Eastern seaboard from Maine down to the Carolinas, or offshore over to Bermuda or the Bahamas. A Transatlantic is in planning. For 15 years I skippered a 30'' sloop on the Western Long Island Sound, and sailed pretty much every drop of local water from Sheepshead Bay to Block Island. Right now I am sailing and teaching in the busy, gorgeous and spectacular New York Harbor.
