I am a long time resident of the Georgian Bay Area; started sailing almost two decades ago. My interest was sparked aboard a small Sunfish, and grew as I progressed to trying all types of sailboats over the years, from small Hobie Cats to a 45 foot Catamaran in the BVI’s. My current vessel KRONOS, (a Beneteau Oceanis 370) calls Meaford, Ontario it’s home port. I spend my sailing season enjoying day trips, weekend adventures around the Bay, and extended summer cruises throughout the North Channel. I am a NauticEd Captain Rank level V Instructor. My career as an Advanced Care Paramedic speaks to my focus on safety, and years as a flight Paramedic honed a keen awareness of weather patterns. If you are looking to get started on the water, want to brush up your skills, or set your sights to the Deep Blue, I would love to assist you with these goals. Georgian Bay Sailing Coach.

Excellent teacher—welcoming and patient. Switches between teaching and coaching really well

I had an excellent experience learning to sail with Collin Young. I thoroughly enjoyed each outing/lesson that he provided. I appreciate that Collin told me about the NauticEd website and programs as they are an excellent way to bring together the theory of sailing with the practical 'on boat' learning experience. The sailing world was new to my husband and I, and so the learning curve was a steep one. Collin was very kind and patient with us, and displayed genuine kindness, i.e. offered ginger candies when needed, leant me sailing gloves etc.). Collin's repetition of phrases and concepts helped with developing our knowledge and skills. We look forward to many happy, fun and safe adventures on the water, moving forward. Many thanks Collin for your time, expertise and great teaching skills. We truly appreciate everything and hope to be on the water with you next summer in some capacity, i.e. crewing, racing etc.
