Level V Bareboat Charter Master Rank Chief Sailing Instructor / Assessor

Level V Crew Rank Intern Powerboat Instructor / Assessor

I started sailing as a sea scout when I was a child, cruised the English Channel on my father’s 1930’s sloop, raced in the 1983 America’s Cup and numerous other international regattas. I've been teaching sailing for over 25 years first in New York and then for the past 23 years, I have been teaching exclusively in the British Virgin Islands and as well as the Windward Islands. I run weeklong customized training programs for private groups. I am able to perform the SLC assessment although, for the BVI, I prefer to run the assessment over a minimum of two days or, preferably, as part of weeklong bareboat charter master program. I specialize in Catamaran training on sailboats and powercats - especially maneuvering. I am a patient coach and enjoy guiding groups of family or friends work together as a cohesive skipper and crew.
