ASA Monopolistic Behavior
If you're an American Sailing Association Affiliated school, we understand that they have threatened you with loosing your affiliation if you align with a more technologically advanced company like NauticEd. It's pretty obvious to the even non-astute that ASA doesn't want competition. While business was built on competition, it's ASA's tactics that NauticEd has issue with.
ASA's exclusive dealings policy policy is illegal and breaks the United States Fair Trade Laws - in particular the Sherman act. Almost every State in the country also has laws that prevent this kind of behavior which is robbing sailing students from modern up to date teaching methods via monopolistic behavior and robs you from exposure to valuable students. That being said, you can file a complaint with the FTC and the DOJ at the websites below. As soon as these agencies receive enough complaints they WILL stop ASA from ever practicing this behavior again and the public will be better served by choices. The complaint is kept in confidence with the agencies so you have no fear of reprisal. We invite you to stand up to ASA's illegal and business suppression policy.
