Join Capt. Alan for the initial course of the season departing from beautiful Victoria, B.C. and sailing through the San Juan Islands en route to Bellingham, Wa. There couldn't be a more ideal sail training area with huge tidal ranges, gorgeous scenery, peaceful anchorages, vibrant ports, traffic including ferries, commercial shipping, fishing and recreational vessels, traffic separation schemes, and a even resident population of orcas!
Sunday evening you will board S/V Anthea, 48' aluminum hull Alubat OVNI 455 which is cutter rigged and has been recently refit with a full compliment of sailing and safety gear aboard including self-inflating PFDs so all you need to bring is yourself and your gear.
Students will participate in every aspect of a live aboard sailing course including rotating roles as crew and sharing all duties aboard like cooking, cleaning, maintenance and safety checks. While aboard, you will have the opportunity to earn NauticEd credentials such as Qualified Crew, Bareboat Charter Master, and the International Sailing License and Credentials (SLC).
With just two private staterooms available for booking and a maximum of four students aboard on any course, you will have loads of hands-on training time with Capt. Alan while honing your skills in sailing, navigation, docking, anchoring and mooring in an area with strong tidal currents and pristine natural beauty.
Staterooms are booked privately only - you will never share a stateroom unless you choose to bring a spouse or friend. Private staterooms are priced at $2850 whether single or double occupancy ($1425 per person). Should you wish to book the entire boat privately for groups of up to four people, you may do so for $5700 pending availability.
Stateroom price includes virtually everything while aboard: instruction, moorage, fuel, meals and snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, towels, linens and bedding, and use of safety equipment including self-inflating PFDs. Also included are NauticEd online courses to ensure that you are well prepared when you board for the practical course. You are responsible only for evening meals ashore and for any alcoholic beverages you wish to bring along, to be enjoyed responsibly only at the end of the day while moored or at anchor.
You are welcome to board Sunday evening for a fresh Monday start, and to remain aboard Friday night after course end and disembark by noon on Saturday.
