Since I had taken each module in this course separately most of the course I did not need to read anything just do the tests. But if you are just taking this module alone you will need to read all readable parts of each module to understand and pass this module.
It was intense. I found that writing everything out and making my own diagrams helped to reinforce the information. It was long but the course laid everything out well.

As a lifelong Sunfish sailer and crew on larger boats, this course gave me more confidence as I spend more time on a our new-to-us 28-foot sailboat. It covers a lot in a succinct, easy to understand way, and with enough good humor and examples to make the course fun. It is a great combination of practical and technical information. The course makes good use of videos available on YouTube. Finally, I know I could have purchased a book, but having gone through the testing process gives me more confidence (and perhaps will come in handy if we charter a boat some day.) Finally, I like that I can go back and review sections (and I already have as I get the boat ready for another season.)
