Bow and beam / double angle with leeway and or current

How does / can the bow & beam, double angle technique work with leeway or current? I'm thinking it may need some modification since the boat's heading / course to steer might not match up with the course over ground.

We added content to reflect this issue - that the heading must equal the course over ground to make this work - which is often not the case. However, estimates can be applied using known leeway and current/tide tables from charts.
