Why a triangle for a GPS fix?

Why a triangle for a GPS fix?

On questions 4 and 6 on the quiz questions, the answers uses a triangle to show the GPS fix position on the chart. I thought the triangle was used for an estimated position (Dead Reconing + set + drift). Shouldn't the circle be used for a fix via GPS?

Dead reckoning is a semicircle. An electronic fix is a triangle.

I'm wondering if maybe what I'm seeing is due to differing notation between British (or European) methods and American. For example, on the RYA plotter, dead reckoning is shown as a simple dash perpendicular to and crossing the track, rather than a semicircle.
