Landfall Sailing was founded in 2005 as part of the Seraph Group on Lake Travis in Austin, Texas and is one of only a handful of schools in the U.S hosting the assessments for the internationally recognized SLC certification required for power and sail by many EU nations. Many of us had our first boating experience on powerboats but became fascinated with sailing. Sailing offers a lifelong learning opportunity, is quiet and environmentally-friendly, technically challenging, not entirely fuel dependent therefore offers unlimited range, is cost effective and enables adventures associated with bareboat chartering in exciting destinations. We are not solely focused on issuing stickers or certifications without also assuring that our students develop documented, tangible, verified, practical skills recognized by major charter companies worldwide. We tailor your classes to your schedule and limit our classes to 2 students Contact us today at www.landfallsailing.com/contact/ for yo

SLC/BAREBOAT CHARTER MASTER ASSESSMENT

Event Location: USA, TX Lakeway
Date: 2019, Fri Jul 19 9:00am - Sat Jul 20
Event Type: Practical Training

If you are planning to bareboat charter in the Mediterranean, you are required to have a license. Landfall Sailing conveniently offers refresher courses as well as licensing year round in Austin, Texas. Prerequisites include completion of the NauticEd Bareboat Charter Master bundled courses and the SLC review course. We respect your existing knowledge and thus we don’t condescendingly make you take basic training if you are already experienced and skillful. Rather, you can jump in at any level and pass all the online exams and complete the on-the-water assessment without training. Landfall Sailing offers, what we call, a rust-removal day prior to the assessment day. This ensures you can pass the assessment requirements. e.g. Can you Mediterranean moor in a crosswind? Can you dock and leave the dock using spring lines? Can you sail up to a mooring ball and stop? Give a tide range? Can you calculate the depth at a certain time of the day? If you are rusty, we recommend a rust removal day. Both of these days, rust removal and assessment, will count towards your recent 5-day sailing within the past year requirement. Contact Bruce at 512-627-9901 or email bruce@landfallsailing.com for details.
