NauticEd works with our sailing school students to help them qualify to do a bareboat yacht charter on a sailing vacation. We do this in a 3 pronged approach:

a) Help the student become confident in their abilities through bareboat yacht charter theory teaching

Yacht Charter in Greece While there are lots of great sailors out there, NauticEd has found that many sailors looking to charter a yacht on a sailing vacation may have some apprehension around bareboat chartering an unfamiliar yacht in an unfamiliar location - rightly so. Thus NauticEd's Docking and Maneuvering a Sailboat Under Power sailing lesson, Coastal Navigation sailing lesson and the Bareboat Charter sailing lessons all work in unison to develop the confidence needed. These sailing courses lead the student to the Bareboat Charter Master Sailing Certification. An additional Catamaran Sailing Confidence lesson provides those who are considering upgrading to a catamaran charter but are a little unsure because of the unfamiliarity.

b) Give the student a practical experience guideline that is acceptable by most yacht charter companies

Certainly, all bareboat yacht charter companies require some sailing experience before a client and friends can enjoy a sailing vacation. NauticEd gives the student guidance in attaining the minimum level of practical sailing experience required by yacht charter companies. The Bareboat Charter Master Level III Rank requires that all students have completed at least 50 days of sailing experience on the water with at least half of those as skipper of the vessel and half on a vessel 28ft of greater in length. Additional requirements of anchoring, mediterranean mooring, docking, and overnight stays on a boat are listed. NauticEd provides a FREE online Sailing Logbook where the student can fill out their boating and sailing experience. The student can then run an application which tells them if the yacht charter company will accept their experience. See if you qualify to do a bareboat yacht charter sailing vacation now.

c) Help the student produce a bonified sailing resume and sailing certificate acceptable by yacht charter companies

When applying to do a bareboat yacht charter sailing vacation, all clients must fill out a sailing resume. NauticEd's online sailing resume is a permanently stored secure area for students to store and update their sailing resume in real-time. Each sailing lesson that has been passed by the student is listed as well as their sailing experience history. Students can easily give to the yacht charter company a secret logbook code, whereby the yacht charter company can then digitally view the sailing resume and sailing certification and determine if the potential client has enough experience and knowledge to charter a yacht. Students can view their own sailing resume and sailing certification by going to http://www.nauticed.org/student_verification.
